Ernest "Ernie" Blaine Fitzwater

Ernest "Ernie" Blaine Fitzwater, 74 of Grafton, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Taylor County, February 22, 1940, a son of the late Elmer Guy and Hettie Richards Fitzwater. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Ann Rutherford Fitzwater whom he married August 27, 1964.
Ernie worked at Baby World for 30 years, and Grafton City Hospital for three years. He was a charter member of the Blueville Church of the Nazarene and attended the Grafton Wesleyan Holiness Church. He loved to mow the grass, and work on cars, and loved to go to Phil's Auto and talk to the boys.
Surviving are three children, Beverly Lucas and husband James, James Fitzwater and wife Terrie, Judy Kisner and husband Todd all of Grafton; one brother Delmus Fitzwater, Grafton; four grandchildren, Joshua Lucas and wife Martikkia, Rhiannon Knotts and husband Eric Scott, Amber Porretta and husband Keith, and Derek Kisner, five step-grandchildren, John, Jeremiah, Rebecca, Jamie, Pricilla, three great grandchildren, Dylan, Cicilia and Trent; twelve step great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Debra Rutherford Mullan and Bennett Porretta.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave, Grafton, on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 2-6 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM, Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Bartlett Funeral Home with Rev. David Maley and Rev. Robert Oakley officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Webster. Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Grafton Wesleyan Holiness Church Fellowship Hall Fund, 412 West Hill Road, Grafton, WV 26354.
