Lucille Alice Bartlett

Lucille Alice (Goff) Bartlett, age 77, of Route 1, Grafton, Lucretia Community, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at her home. She was born in Barbour County, WV, October 24, 1932 to the late Lath Goff and Flossie Belle (Wolfe) Goff Hovatter, of Preston County. She was preceded in death by her "Daddy," Harry Hovatter. Lucille was employed at the former Hazel-Atlas Glass and the former Baby World of Grafton, and as a waitress in several restaurants. She was a caregiver to the elderly for over 50 years, and later retired from the elderly care which she ran from her home in Lucretia. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Grafton and was a Protestant by faith. She loved her family and friends and was a cherished neighbor in the Lucretia Community. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles F. Bartlett. They were united in marriage September 7, 1950. They have six children: Chuck Bartlett and wife Diann, Earl Bartlett and wife Vicki, all of Grafton, Paula Bolton, of Philippi, Butch Bartlett and wife Tammy, of Grafton, George Bartlett and wife Rene', of Ridgeley, WV, and Greg Bartlett and wife Becky, of Grafton. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren: Danny Bartlett and wife Pam, Tawnda McCloy and husband Jeff, all of Grafton, Carrie Bartlett, of NC, Matt Greathouse, Jenny Trader and husband Ray, all of Grafton, Donna Sturm, of Buckhannon, WV, Melissa Sturm, Ashley Boylen and husband Jason, Courtney Stemple and husband Zack, Allie Bartlett, all of Grafton, Travis Bartlett, Randi Bartlett, both of Ridgeley, WV, Beau Bartlett and Raven Bartlett, both of Grafton; fourteen great grandchildren: Jeremy Shaffer, Ivy Bartlett, Jeffrey McCloy, C.J. McCloy, Chuckie McCloy, all of Grafton, Isaiah and Jacob Bartlett, both of NC, Destiny Bolton, Steven Trader, and Joshalynn Barnett, of Philippi, Camryn Boylen, Kiyan Boylen, Kianna Boylen, and Mykenna Stemple, all of Grafton; three sisters, Betty Stafford, and Dorothy Poling, both of Grafton, and Dona Powell, of Phoenix, AR; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by seven brothers: Charles Goff, William "Pete" Goff, Olbert Hovatter, John Hovatter, Dennis Hovatter, Carl Hovatter, and Eldon Hugh Hovatter; two sisters, Wilda Curry, and Audra Goodwin; and a son-in-law, Blaine Bolton. Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Thursday, September 16, 2010, from 2 - 8 p.m., and on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 8 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery.
