I had the great fortune as assistant prosecutor of being able to work with Becky through her work with the Board of Education. More importantly than the work, I was able to meet a wonderful, thoughtful, and delightful person. I will miss her greatly and remember her fondly; my sincerest sympathies go out to the family. Becky Nicholas touched my life in so many ways, I couldn't express it all. She was someone I admired and loved dearly as a child, and her neighbor for many years. She cared for me when my mother had to work. She drove me to school, took me to WVU games, but mostly, she spent time talking and sharing life lessons as if I was her own daughter. I aspired to be just like her when I grew up. She was such a bright light, and her and Nick together were two of the best human beings I've had the pleasure to know, and love. Fly free Bec. No more pain, suffering or worry. I'm sure you'll be watching out for us all, and rooting for WVU from heaven. You are the true definition of an angel. A beautiful, wonderful, kind, compassionate, loving angel. I will continue to think of you often, and remember all of those life lessons you shared with me. Thank you for being a mother figure in my life. Many times that was greatly needed. Thank you for introducing me to the Moody Blues, and teaching me so much about life. I love you forever. It is never easy to lose someone you love. There are no words that will comfort you during this time. I pray that God will fill your hearts with warmth and lessen your grief. I am sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Nicholas was my teacher in middle school. My 7th grade year she was a great teacher

When my ex moved to Morgantown to begin law school, the only job I could get was teaching in Grafton. My first year was at the old middle school; I transferred to AJ the following year and met many wonderful people. One of them was Becky! I loved her personality and sharp wit; she quickly became one of my favorites. I appreciated her zest for life and the love she had for her son. When I left WV to move back home to VA, I visited once and stayed with the Nicholases. Although I hadn't seen Becky in years, I thought about her often....her family is in my thoughts and prayers.
