Deb, "Ms. Cap" was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside. She was more of a "teacher" than she even began to know. She was an example of how people should act and be with one another. She was gracious and funny. She was very kind and took the time to offer advice and to listen because she truly cared. Her heart was golden. Debbie was an incredibly loving and amazing spirit. She gave of herself in the most humble manner as any true friend would. She was compassionate and wanted to see all of her students succeeding and thriving. She was one of the most sincerely good people my family was graced to know and love while we lived in Grafton. Our all time favorite teacher - Jordan was in her 2nd grade class at Pruntytown Elementary. There were many times we spent sharing silly stories and ornery laughs too! What a loss. She was a precious person. She blessed my whole family by being a shoulder to lean on and always offered a smile to help brighten any day. God gained an angel when she went home. We will hold her dear and close in our hearts the rest of our days. Our love to John and Gabrielle - though we never were privileged to meet you, know we felt as if we knew you by how much love Debbie beamed with when she spoke of you. She was a treasure in this life. She changed our world for the better and she will forever hold a spot in the best memories from Grafton. Prayers and hugs. To all of Debbie's family, my deepest condolences. You won't know me, and I am sure Debbie wouldn't remember me either. I last saw her when she was just a baby, and never got to know her as an adult. I knew Shirley and Pat better, as they were closer to my age, and I knew her parents very well. I practically lived at her grandparents home, in Grafton. Pearl and Oscar Riddle were like family to me, As I had no living grandparents, her great grandmother, Grandma Martin, as we called her, was a surrogate. Anyway, though time and distance prevented me from know her, I am still saddened to hear of her passing. I know that God will provide an abundance of peace and comfort, as you grieve your loss. Johnny and Gabrielle=====I will always remember Debbie as that happy go lucky, life of the party comic and one of just a few people to call me "joey". I always enjoyed her Weirton visits and the fact she never forgot to stop and sit and chat with my parents while enjoying a glass of 'Earls' homemade wine. I still am in disbelief of the loss of such a Beautiful person. I met Debbie and John almost 40 years ago at the Black & White (where all the teachers hung out) haha.....and everyone ALWAYS had a Great Time when Debbie made her appearance! I recently spoke with John awhile back and had asked John how he was doing along with Debbie but did not realize she was in the condition she had suffered with for so many years. I realize I may not have been able to do much but at least I would have tried. I always thought the world of Debbie just as all of her students! I am sure she is not in pain any longer but we all will forever not completely understand her feelings. Please know John that you and your daughter, Gabrielle, are both in everyone's thoughts and prayers and Deb will forever be in our hearts!! Many Prayers and Lots of Love for ALL her family and many friends in the loss of such a wonderful and beautiful Lady!!

Debbie and her cousin Howdy came to Southern California to watch a football game. We had a great time. I remember Debbie as a little girl when her mother dressed her in white dresses with big bows tied in the back. Everyone loved Debbie. I expected her to visit me here in Florida with her Cousin Howdy. So sad to learn of her death. Who knew how much pain she was in. Wish I could have helped. Two of my girls had " Mrs. Cap" as they called her when they went to PES. She was such a kind loving and bubbly lady. I also enjoyed working with her when I was a teachers aide, she was a special person and never met a stranger. She loved her students and enjoyed teaching and caring for them. Prayers for her family and especially her daughter that she was so proud of !

I was Debbie's hygienist and she was one of the most caring and generous people I have ever met. She always came in with a big smile and left with a huge hug. Even though she never met my son, she always brought him books and gifts when she came in. She will be greatly missed.

I cannot stop thinking about Debbie since I learned of her passing. I spoke with her the day before her passing. I keep thinking if only I had known what was on her mind that maybe I could have comforted her in some way.Debbie taught my oldest daughter, Heather, to French braid hair in her 4th grade class. She visited our home many times when Gabrielle was young and near the age of my daughters. I will always remember her beautiful smile and kind heart. Children loved Ms. Cap...she gave them hope and comfort. I am so sorry for your loss.

Debbie was a friend to all at Suitland High School and an endless source of joy and laughter. I remember her laugh and her positive energy, her kind soul , and a friendship one could always count on. I was a member of the Suitland High School Class of 1971 and Debbie was a bright light in our class. She lit up the room with her presence, always made us smile with her joy and humor, and was a kind spirit. She will be so very missed but will always be held dear in our hearts.
