Wilma Hayes Obituary

Wilma Louise Hayes, 68 of Parkview, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 29, 1957 in Grafton, WV., the daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln and Juanita Owens Knotts. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Hayes.

Wilma was a proud graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1974, and went on to attend Alderson Broaddus College, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification. Throughout her career, she faithfully cared for others while working in hospitals and nursing homes, dedicating her life to helping those in need until her retirement.

Her compassionate heart extended far beyond her profession. Wilma had a deep love for animals, especially cats, which always held a special place in her heart. She found peace and happiness tending to her flower gardens, where her patience and care were reflected in every bloom. Above all, Wilma treasured the moments she shared with her family and friends. Whether enjoying simple conversations, creating lasting memories, or simply being together, those she loved were the greatest joy and blessing of her life.

Wilma is survived by one son, Jamie Earl Stull and Kendra Cox; one stepdaughter, Kristen Lishness; four grandchildren, Elijah Earl Stull, Marcus Aiden Stull, Kaylee Ann Stull, and Jace Stull; one brother, Ronnie Knotts (Sheila); one sister, Lisa Knotts; several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Wilma was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Knotts; one sister, Delores Jean Knotts and one stepson, Scott Hayes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her care fund on her memorial page.
