William Ira Beltner, 74, of Grafton, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at his residence. He was born on May 31, 1945, in Uniontown, PA., a son of the late Andrew William Beltner and Mildred Bolyard Trisler.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Sharon Smith of Grafton, one grandchild, one brother, Robert H. Beltner, Grafton, step sister, Sue Criss, Grafton, several nieces and nephews, and Gerald Leighty who was like a brother. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Andrew Beltner, one sister, Catherine Estel, and by his step father, John L. Trisler.
He was a member of the Union Local 379 of Morgantown, where he retired as a mason tender. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He simply loved to be outside. He loved taking his antique car to car shows with his brother Bob. In his prime, he drag raced at Eldora Raceway and won many trophies. He loved to interact with people and never met a stranger. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Of all the things he did in life, he was most proud of his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave, Grafton, WV 26354. Pastor Michael Boyer will officiate and interment will follow in the Haymond Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home, with proper distancing and face mask required.
