Timothy John “TJ” Poling, 45, of Bridgeport, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 3, 1980, in Morgantown, the beloved son of John Junior and Betty Myers Poling. He also leaves behind his devoted fiancée, Jennifer Rush.
TJ was a graduate of Grafton High School. Throughout his working years, he was employed as a coal miner and had worked at Walmart. He was a hardworking man who appreciated the simple blessings of life and found his greatest happiness outdoors. Whether he was deer hunting, camping beneath the stars, or simply taking in the beauty and peace of nature. He also enjoyed attending concerts, making trips to Amish Country, and creating memories along the way.
Above all else, TJ treasured his family. The moments spent laughing, sharing stories, and simply being together.
TJ is survived by his three children, Hanna Poling, Gabriella Robinson, and Parker Robinson; his twin brother, Brian Poling; two nephews, Jevan Poling and Jamian Poling; one niece, Jhayln Poling; his maternal grandmother, Mary Myers; his paternal aunts and uncles, David Poling, Rick Poling (Jane), Lewis Poling, Mike Poling, Barbara Shingleton (Bill), Alice Pyles (Paul), and Kathy Weaver (Mark); his maternal aunts and uncles, Kenny Myers, Darlene Poling, Kathy Andrews, and Sandy Puckett; as well as several cousins and many extended family members who will deeply miss him.
TJ was welcomed into eternal rest by his paternal grandparents, James and Willa Perone Poling; his maternal grandfather, Kenny Myers; his paternal great-grandparents, Dayton and Iva Poling and Delbert and Georgia Perone; his maternal great-grandparents, George and Alcinda Myers and Blaine and Edna McCauley; his paternal uncles, Bill Poling, Roy Poling, and Charles Poling; and his maternal aunt and uncle, Debbie Lyons and Bobby Myers.
Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 3:00PM until 7:00 PM and on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Jerusalem Church Cemetery, Philippi, WV.
