Thomas "Bubby" Ray Swiger

Thomas Ray “Bubby” Swiger, 65 of Philippi, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Philippi, April 21, 1956, son of the late Arnold Ray and Betty Jean Swick Swiger. He was married to the love of his life Roberta Elaine Moore Swiger on November 6, 1993 spending over 28 years together.

Bubby worked at Grafton City Hospital for many years. He was a man that never met a stranger, he made friends where ever he went. He enjoyed going to flea markets and collecting antiques. He liked going to car shows and enjoyed deer hunting whether he got the trophy deer or not. He loved his family and gave each of his sisters a nickname that they carried through life and will always treasure. He considered his family his greatest blessing and he will be greatly missed by each of them.

 Bubby is survived by two sons, Josh Swiger, Thomas B. Swiger, Philippi, one daughter, Amanda Marie Young, Grafton, four grandchildren, Destiny, TJ, Adam, and Austin. one brother, Randy Swiger (Tammy) Philippi; four sisters, Lona Jean Bailey, Mary Spring (Frank), Sandra McCumbers, all of Grafton and Debora Baker of Thornton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends he considered to be his family and daddy’s dog Jake.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Swiger, brother-in-law, Tim Baker, and nephew, MoeMoe.

Friends may call for visitation at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 3-8 PM, and on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the funeral hour with Pastor Shirley Webster officiating and the interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, in Webster.
