Thomas Wayne Retherford

Thomas “Tom” Wayne Retherford 59, of Grafton passed away on Wednesday October 4, 2023 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born April 27, 1964 in Grafton, son of the late Elza Doral and Ruth Holt Retherford. Tom is survived by his wife Frances Utt Retherford whom he married November 28, 1983 spending more than thirty -nine years together.

Tom was in the Army Reserves and was an avid carpenter. He enjoyed working on projects around the house. He liked being outdoors, and going fishing along the local riverbeds. Tom traveled and went to many different car shows with his buddies. He loved the time he spent with his friends and family especially his grandsons.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by  one daughter, Tonya Goodnow (Andy); two precious grand sons, Stephen Thomas Goodnow, and Caden Joshua Goodnow; three brothers, Robert E. Retherford (Karen), Randall Retherford (Pauline), and Steven L. Retherford (Kay); two sisters, Nancy R. Trapp (Richard), and Dora L. Stutler (Leonard) several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by one son, Jermiah Thomas Retherford, five brothers, Jimmy C. Retherford, Timothy E. Retherford, Franklin D. Retherford, Gary A Retherford, and Roger L. Retherford
