Sue Moore Obituary

Sue Ellen Moore, 63, of Flemington, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2019 at her childhood home in Flemington with her loving family by her side. She fought a fierce and courageous battle with ovarian cancer for eleven years before going home to claim her reward of eternal life with her Heavenly Father.

Sue was born in Rosemont, WV, January 18, 1956, a daughter of the late Robert and Louise (Wilfong) Trimble.

Sue was a woman of God and had great faith. She was a lifelong member of Bailey Memorial United Methodist Church in Rosemont and provided the leadership for many of the programs and community projects carried out by the small church. If something needed done, you could always count on Sue to make it happen. She read her Bible and several devotionals each morning, prayed before every meal, and often declared that in her battle with cancer, “Either way, I win.”  She was a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her.  While undergoing chemotherapy, she encouraged other patients to “Never give up, because nothing is impossible with God.” Sue was a true role model for what it means to live a Christian life.

Nothing made Sue happier than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She enjoyed Corvette car shows, sitting around the fire in the backyard or camping trips, collecting seashells at the beach weekends in Amish country, and sitting on her backyard patio watching the birds, squirrels, and deer while enjoying the many flowers she planted.  Sue was an excellent cook and was always excited to share the fruits of her labor with others. No one left hungry after a visit to her house.

Sue graduated from Flemington High School in 1974.  She was employed for twenty-five years by Taylor County Schools as a kindergarten teacher’s aide and special education bus aide.  Sue previously worked at Church of the Good Shepherd’s preschool in Grafton.  She loved her students and they loved her.

Sue is survived by her husband Paul Moore, the love of her life for 44 years, whom she married March 1, 1975; two sons, Nicholas Moore of Bethlehem, GA; Jonathan Moore and wife Elise of Bridgeport, WV; two brothers, Paul Trimble and wife Linda (O’Dell) Trimble of Siler City, NC and Robert Trimble of Shawboro, NC; three sisters, Robin White and husband Dennis of Terra Alta, WV, Lorinda Boring of Moyock, NC, and Cindy Kontak and husband James of Bridgeport, WV; one brother-in-law, William Moore and wife Charlene (Stewart) Moore of Flemington; one sister-in-law Kathy (Snider) Trimble of Philippi;  five grandchildren Madison Deighan, Henley, Quinnland, and Marshal  Bellville Moore, and Milliana Moore; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her in-laws, Deward L. and Rose Mary (Getz) Moore; one brother, Buddy Trimble; two brothers-in-law, James Boring and James “Jimmy” Moore, and one grandson, Malachi Bellville Moore.
