Steven Joseph Tocco, 73 of Grafton passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 5, 1950 in Albany, NY, son of the late Joseph Anthony and Margaret Ann (Quinn) Tocco.
Steven was baptized and received his first Holy Communion on May 25, 1958. He graduated from Mohonasen Sr. High School, Graham Junior College in Boston and also completed Radio Engineering Institute in 1973. He was the owner and founder of Union Street Video, News 45 in Schenectady, NY, originally known as WUSV. WTBZ Appalachian Radio in Grafton, WV, WUSV Channel 16 in Clarksburg, WV. He was also a news operations manager at AllBritton Communications: WRIC News Channel 8 in Richmond, VA, Channel 8 News in Washington, DC. Steven was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy for producing a documentary. He was a loving father, gentle soul, an inventor by heart, who loved his gentleman’s hats and DQ.
He is survived by his four children, Sean Bennett, Santa Fe, NM, Christopher Tocco, Richmond, VA, Alesha Tocco, Grafton, Michelle Tocco, Cape Cod, MA; five grandchildren, Alexandra Tocco, Ronan Tocco, Isabelle Barnes, Mila Mott-Frye and Trey Mott-Frye; siblings, Patricia Anderson (Christopher), JoAnn Tocco, Todd Tocco (Sharon), Tim Tocco, and Joe Tocco; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas Tocco.
