Steven Alan Kemper 74, of Grafton, (Cherry Run Community) passed away at home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 1, 1950 in Hot Springs, VA, son of the late David Allan and Lois Crowder Kemper. He is survived by his wife, Bonny Sue Wolfe Kemper whom he married on February 6, 1972, spending more than fifty-three years together.
Steven was a hard-working man starting his career out working as a coalminer. He worked construction and electrical work for Middletown Homes until he retired. Steven enjoyed the outdoors, relaxing along a river bed while fishing or going out hunting whenever he could. The time he spent with his family, children, and grandchildren was what he loved most. He liked it when his friends and family would get together talking, laughing and playing, while making precious memories.
Steven is survived by two children, John Jay Kemper (Fiancé Wanda), Sherry Ann Kemper; four grandchildren, Sierra Weaver (Joseph), Chase Moats (Shawna), Colton Moats (Bailey), Arianna Kay Wolfe (Gary); four great grandchildren, Kinsley, Wyatt, Carson, Wesley and one great grandson on the way in October; three brothers, Bobby Kemper, Roger Kemper, and Ricky Kemper; one sister, Debra Lake; one special nephew, Richie McGinnis (Amanda); and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Steven is preceded in death by one sister, Tammy Kemper.
