Shelia Pearl (Herbert) Austin

Sheila Pearl Austin, 77, of Grafton passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born November 9, 1942 in Chelthenham, England, UK. Sheila was the daughter of the late Henry and Doris Pargeter Herbert. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold Austin.  They were married September 1, 1962.  

Sheila devoted a lot of her time giving to others by volunteering at the Bread of Life Mission. She loved working on her home and keeping it in pristine condition. She enjoyed doing crafts, watching movies but most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Sheila is survived by four children; Dan Austin and wife Darci, MI, Rick Austin, Clarksburg, Debbie Moran and husband, Jamie and Amanda Austin of Grafton; eleven grandchildren Chad, Shawn, Michael, Kimmy, Chantel, Ricky, Josh, Ayron, Cody, T.J. and Whitney; and numerous great grandchildren, one sister Margaret Modaff and husband Don, IL, by one brother, Brian Herbert Chelthenham, England, and by her special pet friend, Toby.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Austin and Lisa McGee, two sisters Sylvia and Joyce and by her pet friend Max.

Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at the Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave, Grafton, WV 26354.  Major Tonya and Major Eric Roberts will officiate and interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 20, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 21, from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour, with proper distancing and face mask required.   Bartlett Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements for the Austin family.
