Sandra Hartmann (Petersen) Currey

Sandra Hartmann Currey, 79 of Pruntytown passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born August 12, 1941 in Portland, Oregon, daughter of the late Ove Hartmann and Eva Merle Satterfield Petersen. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Currey on September 6, 2019.

Sandra graduated from West Fairmont High School Class of 1959.She was a member of the Pruntytown United Methodist Church. Sandy greatest joy was being with her family and her dog “Star”. Her hobbies were sewing and gardening.

Sandy is survived by one daughter, Kristal K. Sumpter and husband Lee, Charlottesville, VA; two sons, Mark A. Currey and wife Karel, Grafton, and Chad L. Currey and wife Wendy, Morgantown; eight grandchildren, Bobby Lee Stutler, Ashlea Horne and husband Joel, Holly Leon and husband Josh, Kendal Lynn Currey, Koa James Silvers, Eli Cain Sumpter, Anna Elizabeth Sumpter, Isaac Cain Sumpter; two great grandchildren, Etta Horne and Benny Horne; one son-in-law, Bob Stutler, Middleville; two sisters, Sally Hamilton and husband Jim, Penny Morrison all of Fairmont; one brother, Rod Petersen and wife Brenda, Washington, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandy was preceded in death by one daughter, Donetta L. Stutler; and one brother-in-law, Donnie Morrison.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial donations be made in Sandra’s memory to the Pruntytown United Methodist Church c/o Cinda Dean, 329 Harmony Grove Rd. Grafton, WV 26354.
