Russell Douglas (Doug) Jones, 85 of Hobe Sound, FL, the kindest and the best of men, passed away peacefully on April 8th 2023, surrounded by loving family. Doug was born in Charleston, West Virginia on September 19th 1937. He served proudly in the United States Army after attending the University of Virginia and graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a mechanical engineer building steel mills across the country including Georgetown, South Carolina; Kokomo, Indiana; Wallingford, Connecticut and East Providence, Rhode Island. Doug is survived by his loving wife Nancy Johnson Jones; daughters, Ellen Lutes and husband Gregory, Elizabeth Kasenetz and husband Brett; and grandchildren, Katherine Lutes Hendricks and husband Britt, Evan Lutes and Whitney Kasenetz; brother, Randolph Jones and wife Sue; and sister, Janet Young; two nephews and one niece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one nephew. Doug will always be remembered for his love of his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and the West Virginia wilderness. A Graveside Service will be held at the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, West Virginia on Saturday, April 29th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tom Horne officiating.
