Rose Marie Sylvester, 99 of Grafton, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Taylor Health Care Center, Grafton. She was born June 4, 1920 in Galloway, WV, daughter of the late Louis and Susan Cavvaretta Derosa.
Rose enjoyed life to the fullest and was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church. Her hobbies were crocheting, cooking, watching WVU sports, and the Pittsburg Pirates baseball games. She was past president of the Taylor County Senior Citizen and enjoyed talking with her many friends.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Pyles, and fiancée Denise, Saylorburg, PA; one daughter, RoseAnn Beaman, Idabel, OK.,several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren; three sisters, Fina Kostka, Mary Derosa, three brothers, Frank Derosa, Sam Derosa, Don Derosa, special niece, Frances Colebank and husband Bob; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Walter Pyles and Anthony Sylvester; four children, Nelson Pyles, Emma Sue Penix, and William”Doc” Pyles; brothers and sisters, Dominick Derosa, Antionette Cardone, Jenny Cacciebeve, Louis Derosa, Nada Sylvester, and Josie Derosa
Friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 3:00PM to 8:00PM. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11:00AM with Father Jim O’Conner presiding. Interment will follow at Mt Pleasant Cemetery.
