Roger Dean Obituary

Roger Lee Dean, 63 of Grafton, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at his residence, with his loving family by his side. He was born December 14, 1956 in Grafton, son of the late Samuel Harrison and June Maxine Hoard Dean.

Roger was a graduate of Grafton High School Class of 1975. He retired from Allegheny Energy at the Pleasants Power Station as a Maintenance Supervisor. Roger loved the outdoors, riding dirt bikes, dune buggies, hunting, watching NASCAR, he loved to play his guitar,  taking road trips around the mountains and especially spending time with his granddaughters.

Roger is survived by one daughter, Lynsey Dean Mumaw and husband Shane, St Marys and Grafton; two granddaughters, Samantha West-Fenton and husband Zak, Ft Drum, NY, Natalea Mumaw, St Marys;  one great granddaughter, Hadlea June Fenton, Ft Drum, NY; his  High School Sweetheart and best friend, Kimberlea Weaver-Dean, Grafton; one sister, Linda Kay McBee and husband Ronald; two brothers, Sammy Kaye Dean, James David Dean and wife Vickie all of Grafton; two brother-in laws, Chuck Williams and wife Tammy, Joe Williams and wife Dena both of Grafton, nieces and nephews, Melissa McBee-Anderson and husband Jon of Fairmont, Stacy Dean Freeman and husband Eric, Amanda Dean Dye and husband David, Kristen “Nikki” Bolyard, Tyler Dean, Taylor Dean; great nephews, Zakary Anderson, Corey Freeman, Brian Dye, Noah Dye; aunts and uncles, Saunnie Hoard, Eleanor Dean, Homer and Carolyn Dean, Thurman and Katie Spaur, Patty Dean, and Shelba Dean Halstead; many cousins and many special friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Treva Williams.

A private graveside service was held at Woodsdale Memorial Park. The family would like to thank WVU Hospice for all the love and care during the difficult time.
