Robert D. “Robbie” Newcome, age 61, died suddenly with Covid Pneumonia on May 31,
2022 at Waccamaw Hospital.
Robbie was born in Fairmont, Wv on September 16, 1960, to Charles “Buck “and Sandra
Newcome. Robbie was a member of Trinity Assembly of God in Fairmont, Wv and
attended Christ United Church in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Robbie’s daughter Lexy was the love
of his life, they had a very special bond, and she meant the world to him. Robbie had a
very large personality and would light up a room when he walked in. He never met a
stranger. He cared so much about people and his family was very, very important to him.
Robbie was a very hard worker, detailed, oriented, motivated, and always did his best. He
was owner of Tropical Suntan and Nail Salon in Charleston S.C until he sold his business
in 2008. He became assistant Store Manager of Lowes Home Improvement and very
proud of his accomplishments at such a young age. Robbie’s recent job was with Capital
Vacations in North Myrtle Beach where he won many awards in his sales. He was a
member of the Elite Club as a top Sales Representative. A big part of his success was
asking people questions, listening to them and offering suggestions to meet their needs.
Robbie enjoyed the beach, boating and being tan. He also was an avid Football and
Nascar fan.
Robbie is survived by his daughter, Lexy Newcome of Murrells Inlet; his parents, Buck and
Sandra Newcome of Tunnelton, WV; sisters, Lana Newcome Capp and her husband
Chuck of Tunnelton, Wv. and Tonya Jenelle Newcome of Grafton, Wv; aunt Judy Wolfe
and her husband Jim of Grafton, Wv; uncle, Richard Cathell of Bridgeport, Wv. and many
cousins who shared a bond more like brothers and sisters and his loyal companion his
dog Bell Bell. He also leaves behind countess friends in West Virginia and South Carolina.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday July 30, 2022 at New
Seasons Assembly of God Church 120 Sam Bord Drive, Grafton, Wv 26354, The family
will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.
At that time, 61 years of stories and memories will be shared. Robbie’s Mother, Minister
Sandra Newcome is officiating, and she will be assisted by Pastor Paula Jeffries.
The Bartlett Funeral Home is honored to serve the Newcome family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made to Robbie’s
cousin, Courtney Bartlett McKinney, wife of Ryan and mother of a 5-month-old baby girl, 5-year-old boy and 15-year-old young lady, fighting breast cancer.
