Robert "Bob" Raymond Cockrell

Robert Raymond “Bob” Cockrell, 76 of Morgantown formerly of Grafton, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Mon General Hospital. He was born in Grafton June 30, 1946, son of the late James Raymond and Sarah Murray Cockrell, Bob is survived by his wife Linda Peters Cockrell whom he married September 23, 1967 spending over fifty=five years together.

Robert was a graduate of the St. Augustine Catholic School, Class of 1964 and a graduate of Salem College. He worked and retired as a director from Allegheny Power Company with over thirty=eight years of service. As a reporter for the Grafton Sentinel on June 16, 1964 he was the first to see and report the sighting of the Grafton Monster as he traveled home on Riverside Drive. Robert enjoyed history, collecting movies and was a great Mountaineer sports fan. He loved his family unconditionally and loved every minute he spent with each of them especially his grandchildren.

 Bob is survived by two children, Kathleen Arbuthnot (David) Morgantown, Kelly R. Radinsky (John), Cranberry, PA, five grandchildren, Emma, Brendan, Connor, Jordon, and Calista, two brothers, Mark Cockrell (Debra), Conyers, GA, Kevin Cockrell (Wendy) St. Louis, MO, mother-in-law, Kathleen Parkinson, Grafton, special friends, Dan Peters and Ron Peters, both of Grafton

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Cockrell and father in law, Charles Parkinson.
