Raymond “Nick” Carder Jr. 84 of Grafton passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on May 19, 2026. Nick was born in the same house he passed in, on January 25, 1942. He was the son of the late Raymond “Pop” Carder Sr. and Eva Weaver Carder.
Nick is survived by his companion of 39 years Sue Markley, his daughter Beth Carder Kirkpatrick (Jim); his son Matthew Carder (Rae); his grandchildren Doug Kirkpatrick(Amber) Amanda Green(Terry) Ashley, Chris and Marena; his great grandchildren Alli and Carter Kirkpatrick, Hailey and Blair Green, Mckenna Stemple, and Kamden Stemple, Sarah, Julius, Tyler and Boo; his nieces, Leann Humphrey (Jerry) and Kris Krovich (Mark); his nephew David Carder; his brother Don Carder; his former wife Alice Carder; and several cousins.
Nick was a graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1959. He was the owner operator of Triangle Amoco and Carders Backhoe Service. Nick also worked at Grafton and Barbour Coal. Nick treasured all his grandchildren. He liked hunting, working on cars and spending time with his friends. Nick and Sue loved going to the Sagebrush Round Up. They loved to square dance, Texas two-step, Cha Cha and his favorite Waltz. They also taught various dance classes.
Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Mike Delligatti and Pastor Jim Baker. A private graveside service for inurnment will be held at Woodsdale Memorial Park.
