Philip "Phil" Daniel Reed, Sr.

Philip Daniel Reed, Sr., 80 of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Rosewood Nursing Home, Grafton, born in Philadelphia, Pa., March 29, 1945, he was the son of the late Daniel Raymond and Helen J Jacovis Reed. 

Philip is survived by his loving wife Cathryn English Reed.

In addition to his wife, Philip is survived by three sons, Philip Daniel Reed, Jr., Charles Henry Reed, and Daniel Raymond Reed II; two granddaughters, Samael and Harper as well as foster parents to more than 100 children; three siblings, Karen Good, Dorothy Dotter and Maureen Krum.

Phil was a proud graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and Pennsylvania State University. A dedicated and honorable man, he proudly served his country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army.  Phil enjoyed a rewarding career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he worked with excellence and integrity until his retirement. Never one to sit still, he devoted his later years to giving back as a community volunteer, touching the lives of many through his kindness and generosity.  Music was one of Phil’s greatest joys as he loved to sing and shared his voice as a member of Fountain of Life Church. Those who knew him will remember a wise and determined man who approached life with care, purpose, and an open heart. He truly loved living life to the fullest.

Phil will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

To honor Phil’s wishes he was cremated with Inurnment at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
