Pete Saltis

Pete Saltis, 78 of Flemington passed away on Tuesday, April 4. 2023 at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg on August 7, 1944, son of the late John and Etta Mae Costilow Saltis.

Pete was a graduate of Flemington High School, Class of 1963. He was a proud veteran of the U S Army and served in Vietnam. He enjoyed spending his time taking trips to go hunting, fishing, and camping at Spruce Knob. Pete liked going ice fishing in the winter with his fishing and hunting buddies. He loved the time he spent with all his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Pete is survived by three children, Michael Saltis, Flemington, Kim Sparks, IL., Shannon Schwarz (Ron), IL., seven grandchildren Zack, Jake, Josh, Natalie, Mykia, Melanie, and Cloe, two great grandchildren, five brothers, Mike Saltis, George Saltis, Steve Saltis, Joe Saltis and Paul Saltis, one sister, Elizabeth Saltis, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Susan Sheets Saltis, Pete is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Menear, and two brothers, John Saltis and Andy Saltis.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home 202 McGraw Ave Grafton, WV on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM and on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 9:00AM until 12:00PM Noon the hour of the funeral with Pastor Lois Sandy officiating.  Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors given by the Taylor County Color Guard and the Camp Dawson US Army Honor Guard.
