Paul Alan Stipe

Paul Alan Stipe, 93 Flemington, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at his home on Buck Run with his loving family by his side. He was born February 2, 1933 in Flemington, WV., son of the late Thurmond and Alta A. Lake Stipe, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Macil “Mae” Dodrill Stipe, January 2, 2025.

 Paul was a proud graduate of Flemington High School, Class of 1955. He spent many years as a skilled sign painter, creating billboards throughout the area until his retirement in 1994. A hardworking man with a remarkable talent for building, Paul proudly built two homes with his own hands, leaving behind a lasting testament to his craftsmanship and dedication.

Paul found his greatest peace in the outdoors, where he enjoyed watching the wildlife and appreciating the beauty of nature. He took great pride in tending his garden, and one of his greatest joys was sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and neighbors. Above all, Paul cherished the time he spent with those he loved. Whether gathered around the table, working outdoors, or simply enjoying one another's company, he created memories that will be treasured forever. His kind heart, generous spirit, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family wants to thank WV Hospice and his caregivers; Ruth Cosper and Michelle Worden for all the care and kindness extended to Paul.

 Paul is survived by three step children, Herb Dodrill (JoEllen), Cheryl Daniel (Chad), and Twila Dodrill, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded death by his first wife Mary V. Stipe, two brothers, Frank Stipe and Ralph Stipe.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Simpson Union Baptist Cemetery at Simpson, WV.,2597 Simpson Rd. Flemington, WV 26347 with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating.
