Paul J. Mitchell

Paul J. Mitchell, 87 of Clemtown Community, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. He was born in Philippi January 27, 1936, son of the late Arlington (Ark) and Hazel Virginia Streets Mitchell. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Helen Ruth Haller Mitchell October 9, 2022.

Paul was a farmer, loved working in his garden, fishing and hunting. He worked at Knotts Pallet Plant, and retiring from Grafton Homes in 1997, he leaves behind his special cat, Hobo, loved riding his 4-wheeler, and being with his family.

Paul is survived by one daughter Rebecca Darlene Howdyshell, one granddaughter, Beth Ann Howdyshell (Hank Smith), two great grandsons, Asher  Lambert and his dad Corey Lambert, and Ashton Smith and his dad Hank Smith, a great granddaughter, Ashlynn is due in November,  six sisters, Wanetta Johns, Rita Kennedy, Rhoda Johns, Betty Poe, Wilma Keene(Bernard), Dottie Everson (Gary) one sister and brother-in-law Ronnie and Pearl Hunt, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Moats, Sylvia Humpherys, a brother at birth, step father, Riley Poe.

Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, WV, on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 9:00AM until 1:00PM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Jeffery Minard officiating.
