Patsy "Patty" Virginia Rumker

Patsy “Patty” Virginia Rumker, 65 of Thornton passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at her residence. She was born September 29, 1957 in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late George and Sandra Peterson.

Patty worked as a waitress at Jerrys’ Restaurant for many years. She enjoyed being with people and was always making new friends. After retiring, Patty spent time relaxing in a cozy blanket while watching her favorite shows and working word puzzles. She enjoyed watching football and cheering on her favorite team, the Redskins. She liked going shopping and loved animals of all kinds. Patty loved spending time with her family and cherished the time spent with each of them, especially her granddaughter Bridgette -the love of her life. Patty had a generous spirit, warm heart, and beautiful soul. She was always willing to help anyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

 Patty is survived by two sons, Christopher “Chris” Peterson and companion Vickie, of Grafton and Justin “Jay” Gary and companion Melissa of Texas; fiancé of thirteen years, Kenny Watkins of Grafton; two grandchildren, Jordan “Jordie” Peterson and companion Justina and Bridgette Newlon; fiancé’s children (cherished as her own), Kendra Mae Watkins and Jeremiah Watkins; fiancé’s granddaughter, Evelyn Mae Watkins; two sisters, Trudy Castro and husband Nelson and Nina Davis; one brother, Gerald Peterson and one brother in-law, Loren Canter; many nieces and nephews, Angel Peterson, Donivan See, Lola See, Kristi Kichline, Stacey Strang, Kimberly Willard, Tammy Barber, Steven Peterson, Jessica Dade, Jeff Davis, Brett Davis;  cousins, Lillian Latney, Elizabeth Harper, and Deborah Leary; and close friends, Alberta “Sissy” Sigley who was like a daughter to her and Milford who was like a father to her.

 In addition to her parents Patty was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Newlon, one sister, Barbara Canter.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4:00PM until 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
