Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Palestyne "Ann" Frey, 78 of Grafton WV passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Fairmont Medical Center. She was born on April 17, 1945 in Grafton, the only child of Walter Poole and Annalee “Nanny” (McDaniel) Poole. Ann attended Grafton High School and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from the Taylor County Vocational Center. She spent her career caring for the elderly at the Wallace B Murphy Nursing Home in Grafton and the Madison Center in Morgantown.
Ann was a charter member of the Blueville Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed singing in the choir and directed several adult and teen choir cantatas at Grafton Blueville Church. In retirement, Ann spent a lot of time as an activity and event volunteer at Wallace B Murphy Nursing Home. Ann enjoyed cooking, collecting candles and spending time with her family.
Ann was proceeded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Charlie Frey of Grafton, four daughters; Alice Bean of Phoenix, AZ, Sonya and JJ Williams of Fountain Hills, AZ, Kathy and Don Cyphers of Mannington, WV and Lindy Hoffa and Roy Titchenell, Jr. of Grafton, WV. Step-daughter, Tina Frey, Ann’s greatest pride was being a grandmother to her grandchildren - Kimberly McCartney, (great-grandsons Tanner and Roman), Joshua and Alaina McCartney (great-grandson Theodore), Ryan Williams, Ty Bean and Jordan Bean, Jacob Cyphers, Ben Cyphers
Ann’s daughters would like to thank the incredible staff at the Tygart Center in Fairmont who lovingly cared for their mother as if she was their own. She loved all of the staff dearly and no words can convey the family’s heartfelt gratitude.

Per Ann’s request, no services will be held. Interment will be at the Bluemont Cemetery in Grafton
