Nancy Jo Freeman, 83 of Thornton, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Taylor County Health Care Center, Grafton. She was born in Philippi on November 8, 1939, daughter of the late Theodore Ball and Rachel Lurene Wilson. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Murl Ray Freeman, February 12, 2015.
Nancy was a graduate of Kasson High School, Class of 1958. She worked as a C&P telephone operator and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mount Morris Methodist Church, and Kasson Ruritan. She liked to read a good book, listen to Elvis music and work crossword puzzles. Nancy loved spending time with her family.
Nancy is survived by one daughter, Marsha Gail Mayle (James), two sons, Eric Murl Freeman (Stacy), Shawn Allen Freeman (Lisa); grandchildren, Dustin Mayle (Kristina), Corey Freeman (Monica), Shyra Baker (Ben), Avonlea Freeman, Matthias Freeman, Darrell Moman; two great grandchildren, Kanaan, and Kelix.
Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 3:00-7:00PM and Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral at 11:00AM with Pastor Gary Freeman officiating.
