Miriam Mae "Mid" (Gaines) Jaco Shaffner

Miriam Mae (Mid) Gaines Jaco Shaffner, 99 of Mountain Laurel Nursing Home, Clearfield,PA joined the Lord her savior on Monday, August 20, 2018. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mid was born May 25, 1919, in Clearfield, PA to the late William (Bill) Gaines and Rose Edwards Gaines. She was married to Fred B. Jaco Sr. of Grafton, WV from 1939 until Fred’s death in 1967. Mid was married to Frank Shaffner from 1970 until Frank’s death in 1987. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mid belonged to the Clearfield American Legion and the Curwensville V.F.W. She also belonged to the Red Hats Society of Clearfield, PA.

Mid is survived by her son, Fred B. Jaco Jr. and wife Kathy of Morgantown, WV; four grandchildren, Fred Jaco lll, Jodi Lynn Jaco Herdle, Frank Jaco Jr., Chad Jaco; great-grandsons, Brandon Noah Jaco and Jeffrey Thomas; great-granddaughters, Sydney and Alexandria Herdle, Taylor Jaco and Allison Jaco.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles of Clearfield, and Oscar Gaines of Lanchester, NY; sisters, Ruby Gaines Ducket of Titusville, FL, Sylvia Gaines Conklin of Nigara Falls, NY, her son, Franklin David Jaco Sr. and his late wife Tina of Pleasantville, PA.

All services are private with a celebration of her return to Jesus’s open arms and a reunion of her family.Interment at Woodsdale Memorial Park, Grafton, WV.
