Michael Blake Shay

Michael Blake Shay, 51 of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 following an extended illness. He was born in Grafton, WV on December 23, 1971. He is survived by his father Blake Shay and wife Norma and his mother Kathy Dotson and her husband Jim. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Amy Shay and brothers, Robert and Luke Shay. Michael was also loved by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Bessie Jones Louzy; paternal grandparents, Miriam Grinnan Delaney and Wallace Shay Sr. Michael was blessed with his extended family of care givers, nurses and management at the Arc of Harrison County where he made his home for over twenty years. Michael attended schools in Harrison and Taylor Counties and had worked at the Taylor County Workshop. He enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, walking watching television but mostly eating. Family will receive friends at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Avenue, Grafton, WV on Friday, February 3 from 3-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held at St. Augustine Church, 17 West Washington Street, Grafton, WV on Saturday, February 4 at 12:00 Noon with Father Godwin officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Grafton, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ARC of Harrison County, PO Box 764, Clarksburg, WV 26302-0764 in memory of Michael.
