Michael Anthony Reed, 36, of Morgantown formerly of Grafton passed at his home, Monday, April 28, 2025. Michael was born in Morgantown on November 23, 1988, son of Virginia Ann Reed and step father, Larry Malone.
Michael was a graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 2007. He worked as a cook at the Outback Steakhouse, Boston Beanery and several other restaurants until he went to serve in the US Army. He was proud to be a veteran and thought of it as a responsibility and a privilege to serve. Michael liked being in the outdoors, going hunting especially for squirrel, and fishing at his favorite spots along different river banks. He enjoyed cooking on the grill and preparing meals to share with his family, at get togethers or with his friends. Michael loved his family and considered them his greatest treasure.
Michael is survived by one daughter, Carmen Grace Reed, whom he loved more than words can say; five sisters, Kimberly Croy (David), Adrianne Ford (John), Maria Campbell (Derrick), Ashley Smith (Tamra), and Debbie Holbert; two brothers, Bradley Malone (Hollie), and Jimmy Moore (Tena ); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM and at 11:00AM on Monday, May 5, 2025 a Graveside Service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the US Army Camp Dawson Honor Guard and the Taylor County Honor Guard.
