Maynell Anne (Thayer) Rohrbacher, 85 of West Union, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. Maynell was born on December 1, 1935, in Wheeling, daughter of the late Walter and Anna Laura (Craft) Thayer. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles A. Rohrbacher, February 5, 1993.
Maynell graduated from Grafton High School with the class of 1953 and was the 2nd Taylor County Fair Calico Queen. She was a professional tap dance teacher. Maynell and her husband were professional tap dancers and together performed under the name of “Addison and Thayer”. She enjoyed her family and friends and treasured the memories she made with each of them.
Maynell is survived by one son Reverend W.E. Rohrbacher (Tammy) of West Union, six grandchildren, Brandon Rohrbacher (Emily), Fairmont, B J Burton (Krislyn), Nutter Fort, Keri Burton, West Union, Andrew Mersing, Grafton, William Mersing, Grafton, John Mersing (Hannah), Rosemont and eleven great grandchildren, two sisters Sarah Thayer and Rebecca Thayer both from Grafton.
Friends may call for visitation at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on Friday January 22, 2021 from 3PM-7PM, and on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the hour of the funeral with proper distancing and face mask required. The Reverend W.E. Rohrbacher will officiate and interment will follow at the Bluemont Cemetery.
