Mary Isabelle (Shahan) Rogers

Mary Isabelle Rogers, 95 of Grafton passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020, with her loving family by her side. She was born April 28, 1924 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Otis W. and Sarah Maude Cool Shahan. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Raymond Rogers, January 13, 1999.

She was a graduate of Morgantown High School, a member of the Blueville United Methodist Church since 1947. She enjoyed participating in the Methodist Women’s group, choir and other activities of the church. Mary enjoyed her birthday parties, cooking for her family and friends, and playing Rook with her husband and friends. She was honored to belong to the Naomi Chapter # 12 Order of the Eastern Star.

Mary is survived by two children Linda Shaw and husband Larry, Grafton, Robert “Bob” Rogers and wife Inez “Susie”,  Monroe, NC., three grandchildren, Tammy Abel and husband Charlie, Lance Shaw, Lynette Lemon, four great grandchildren, Jared Abel and Tiffany, Ryan Abel, Bella Lemon, Isaiah Lemon, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Charles Rogers, three brothers, Neil Shahan, Otis Shahan, Jr, and William Shahan.

A heartfelt thanks to Home Away From Home and staff for making Mary and her family feel like they truly were at home away from home.  Heart felt thanks to Anedisys Hospice for all your love care.  A thank you is also expressed to Dr. James Malone and Staff for always being there for us.

Naomi Chapter # 12 O.E.S   will hold services on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 7:00 PM.

Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 3-8PM and on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 9:00AM until the funeral at 12 Noon with Pastor Sue Lowther officiating.
