Mary Charlene “Sherry” Isner, 89, of Grafton, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026. She was born on December 16, 1936, in Grafton, the daughter of the late Walter Raymond “Ham” Simmons and Mary Thelma Mason Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anton James “AJ” Isner, who passed in February 2014. The two were married on June 16, 1957, and shared a lifetime of loving memories together both in Grafton WV and Jacksonville, FL
A graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1954.
Sherry was youngest and the oldest living member of her family. She is survived by her two children, James Isner (Francesca) FL. Jeff Isner (Lorraine) WV, four grandchildren, Michael Bradley-Isner (De”Vonte) FL, Nancy Isner (Nikhil) CT, Dr. Elizabeth Rivas (Andrew) FL, Captain Raymond Isner, USAF in Germany and one great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sherry was preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters William Simmons, Jo Ann Swisher Ball, Dorothy “Dottie” Shoemaker, and Larry Simmons.
The family would like to thank Bartlett Funeral Home. There will be no service and Sherry will be interred with her husband at the WV National Cemetery.
