Mary Ruth (Armstrong) Henderson

Mary Ruth Henderson, 78, or Grafton, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, at Mon General Hospital. She was born in Grafton, February 27, 1943, daughter of the late Hubert and Mary Elizabeth Austin Armstrong. Mary Ruth is survived by her husband of fifty-seven wonderful years James “Jim” Henderson, they were married August 1, 1964.

Mary Ruth was a graduate of G.H.S. Class of 1961. She enjoyed working along- side her husband at their family business the Grafton Drive-In, where people came by the carload. She also enjoyed working at their other family business the Capri Pizza Parlor, in downtown Grafton. She enjoyed talking with her friends, and family especially her son, and grandchildren. She loved working with her flowers when she had a little extra time. Mary Ruth considered her hometown a great place to work and was very proud to be part of the community. Her greatest joy was her family and the time spent with each of them.

Mary Ruth is survived by one son, Jeffrey Paul “Jeff” Henderson (Dee Freeman), two grandsons, Robert Henderson, Alex Henderson, and one granddaughter, Jessica Parson, one great granddaughter, Lyla, one brother, Howard James Armstrong.

In addition to her parents Mary Ruth is preceded in death by one brother Junior A. Armstrong.
