Mary Ellen Girod

Mary Ellen Girod, 78 of Grafton passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Taylor Health Care Center, Grafton. She was born in Grafton, June 1, 1946 daughter of the late Ralph and Lucille Vandergrift Kerby. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Girod August 26, 1989.

Mary Ellen was a graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1965. She was a designer for Nancy C. Bartlett Flowers where she worked for over twenty-four years and worked at the Tygart Lake State Park as a receptionist taking reservations and greeting guest. Mary Ellen enjoyed being with people, going to BINGO, shopping, and watching scary movies. She loved being with her friends, family and her furry companion Molly.

Mary Ellen is survived by two children, William “Bill” Girod, Donna Jean Girod (Maverick); two grandchildren, Nathaniel Colebank (Jennifer), and Natalie Mosher (Perry); one sister, Patricia Franc; two brothers, Robert C. Kerby, Ralph Gary Kerby (Kay); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by one brother, James Kerby.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton on, Monday, July 22, 2024 from 9:00AM until 12:00Noon the hour of the funeral  with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating, Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery.
