Margaret Louise Dotson, 91 of Grafton, passed away with her loving family by her side, Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Taylor Health Care Center. She was born in Hesper, WV (Upshur County) March 21, 1930, daughter of the late Clark and Vera Muriel Reed Heavner.
Margaret was a graduate of Grafton High School, worked as a waitress at the 4 Corners Restaurant, the Ivandale Restaurant, and the Tygart Lake Lodge and as a cashier at the Grafton City Hospital. She also enjoyed volunteering as a Hospice Volunteer and as a senior companion. She liked playing bingo with her family and friends, she never knew a stranger and made friends where ever she went. She loved and lived for the Lord. She loved spending time with her family making memories with each of them. She held her family as her greatest blessing and the joy of her life.
Margaret is survived by four children, James H. Barcus (Judy), Joseph C. Barcus (Tammy), Selena McGomery (John), Darlene Gillenwater (Lee), thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, three brothers, Darrel “Buck” Heavner (Nancy), Harold “Ed” Heavner (Violet), Steve Heavner (Dee) three sisters, Kathryn Dunbar, Edith Garner (John), Marlene Keener (Kenny).
In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by two husbands, Howard Barcus and Thomas Dotson, one daughter, Sharon L. Barcus, one son, William S. Vingoe, one sister, Betty McCourt, one brother, Marion “Gene” Heavner.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton, Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 4-7 PM. Viewing will be on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 9:00AM until the funeral hour at 11:00AM with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery.
