Macil “Mae” Rebia Dodrill Stipe, 93 of Flemington passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born October 25, 1931 in Beckley, WV, daughter of the late Charles and Susan Pearl Sheppard. Mae is survived by her husband, Paul Stipe.
Mae worked at and was co-owner of Dodrills News Stand for many years and volunteered as an EMT for Taylor County Emergency Squad. She was proud of being a two-time Breast Cancer survivor. Mae was a faithful member of the Union Baptist Church in Simpson. She enjoyed bowling, yard sales, and going to the beach working on her tan.
In addition to her husband, Mae is survived by three children, Herb Dodrill (JoEllen), Cheryl Daniel (Chad), and Twila Dodrill; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; one sister, Wanda Lantz; several nieces, nephews and her special grand dog, Cheech.
In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph W. Dodrill; one daughter, Karen Lantz; four sisters, Camilla Richmond, Charlene Spencer, Meredith Boblett, Kathleen Stipe; and one brother, Basil Sheppard.
The family would like to Thank West Virginia Caring Hospice for their loving kindness the last few months. Her personal caregivers, Shelly Akers and Ruth Cosper for their tender loving care.
Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 9:00AM until the hour of the funeral at 11:00AM with Pastor Jerome Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the Silent Grove Cemetery, Barbour County.
