Macel Gay Teets, 87, of Grafton passed away at Mon Marion Neighborhood Hospital in Fairmont, WV on Monday, May 11, 2026, she was born June 22, 1938 in Knottsville, WV, daughter of the late Delbert and Velva Bell Shaffer Gordon
Macel was a warm and outgoing soul who truly cherished time spent with others. She loved visiting with friends, sharing conversations, laughter, and making everyone around her feel welcome. At the same time, she found peace and joy in the quiet beauty of the outdoors. Whether she was hunting or fishing, she always looked forward to the possibility of the big catch or trophy deer, but more than anything, she simply loved the experience and the challenge itself.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and through church she built many deep and meaningful friendships that became like family to her. Above all, Macel treasured every moment spent with her loved ones — whether it was the whole family gathered together or a simple visit one-on-one. Those moments were precious to her, and she held them close to her heart. Macel is survived by one daughter, Pauline Retherford (Randy); four sons, Tommy Workman (Carol), Paul Workman (Suzann), Jimmy Workman and James Roy Workman (Neva); many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother, Roy Gordon and sister, Hazel Adams.
