On November 8, 2024, Loretha Marie Annon, went home to be with Jesus. She passed away peacefully and was surrounded by her family when she entered heaven and met her Savior face to face.
Loretha was born on February 26, 1930 in Tucker County, WV and was the daughter of the late Howard and Elsie (Hovatter) Bolyard. The family moved to Barbour County and she grew up in the Valley Furnace community. Upon graduating from Kasson High School with the class of 1948, she moved to Grafton, settling in Lucretia and Oak Grove communities over the years.
Loretha was blessed with 94 years and 61 of those years were spent with her husband, Floyd Murl Annon. She and Murl married in 1949. They enjoyed traveling and shared many rich experiences and cherished memories. Murl preceded her in death in May 2011.
Loretha was a devoted friend, an ideal daughter, a sweet sister, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a wonderful wife. She was an exceptional homemaker and talented seamstress and quilter, always willing to share her sewing skills with friends, neighbors and family. She loved family gatherings with her children and grandchildren who affectionately called her Mamaw. Her legacy of love will live in the hearts of those who knew her.
As a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Grafton, she was a dedicated Christian. She will be warmly remembered for her kind and generous spirit.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Teresa Gail Belt (Jon), Randy Murl Annon (Maggie Casteel; four grandchildren, Chad Annon (Justine Drevenak), Nicole Horne (Jesse), Nathan Annon (Alyssia), and Gina Morgan (Steve); ten great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Grayson, and Briar Annon, Estella Burger; Silas, Noami, and Solomon Horne; Colson and Adalie Annon; and Hadley Morgan.
Loretha's surviving siblings are Bill Bolyard of Cuyohoga Falls, OH; Don Bolyard (Patsy) of Philippi, WV; Kathleen McDaniel (Gene) of Washington, PA; and Mary Schreffler of Murrells Inlet, SC. She has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews as well.
