Lawrence “Larry” Warden Bolyard, 71, of Grafton, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Broaddus Hospital, with loving family by his side. He was born October 24, 1949 in Grafton, a son of the late Lawrence Paul and Dolores Gower Bolyard. Larry was married to his best friend and love of his life, Carolyn Sue (Koton)Bolyard on December 1, 1973, spending over forty-seven wonderful years together.
He was a 1969 graduate of Grafton High School and served in the United States Army. Larry worked at the Taylor County Board of Education as a maintenance technician and later as a teacher in the Votech Center at Grafton High School. He enjoyed the outdoors while hunting and fishing and traveling to the Amish country. He was proud of being a veteran and adored his family while making special memories with each of them.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by two children; Chad Bolyard (Suzy) Fairmont, Wendy Cox (James Jr.) Philippi, three grandchildren; Cody Cox, Aiden Bolyard, and Greenlee Bolyard, a brother; David Bolyard (Donna) Grafton, a sister; Kay Baxter, Flemington, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother in law, Donald Baxter.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Thursday April 22, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday April 23, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Tim Maxwell and Pastor Tom Jefferies officiating with proper distancing and face mask required. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
