Larry Gene Lemmon, 84 of Grafton passed away at Mon General Hospital on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born in Grafton on September 13, 1940, son of the late Ralph Howard and Katherine “Kate” Teets Lemmon. His wife, Patricia Bennett Lemmon, preceded him in death July 24, 2022.
Larry graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1958, and was a proud 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1959 to 1979. After his military career, he worked as an operator for the B&O Railroad until his retirement. Larry loved playing a good round of golf whenever he could. He also enjoyed hunting and relaxing while fishing along his favorite riverbanks. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Laura Demasi (Frank lll); three grandchildren, Frank Demasi IV (Danielle), Nick Demasi, and Katherine Demasi; one great grandson, Cohen.
In addition to his parents and wife Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Wade Lemmon; one sister, Sandra Sue Lemmon; sister-in-law, Mary Lemmon; and uncle, Homer Lemmon.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM and on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 9:00AM until 10:00AM, the hour of the funeral with Pastor Craig Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full Military Honors accorded by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and by the Taylor County Honor Guard.
