Kenneth "Ken" Chambers Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Chambers 80, of Grafton passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 7, 1944, son of the late Albert Denver Sr. and Minnie Estahlea Moss Chambers. Ken is survived by his wife Darleta Sue (Cox) Chambers whom he married April 29, 1967, spending more than fifty-seven years together.

Ken was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was the manager and mechanic of LYN-CRIS Bowling Lanes for over 40 years. Ken was a lifelong mechanic always tinkering with things to make them work.  He drove cars for various dealers after his retirement. Ken enjoyed traveling, treasure hunting, metal detecting, playing poker and horseshoes. He was a history buff and shared the history of Taylor County talking with others. Ken was a long-time member of the local VFW. He loved the time he spent with his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by three children, one daughter Sharyl Lynn Chambers; two sons, Kenneth Denver Chambers (Allison) and Gary Wayne Chambers (Andrea), all of Grafton; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Poling (Lucinda), Kayla Poling, Alexis Chambers (Marcus Colebank), Marik Chambers, Garin Chambers, Mia Chambers, Cameron Debusa and Mila Debusa; six great grandchildren, Sage Seargeant, Naomi Poling, Percy Robinson, Ila Colebank, Oakley Colebank, Nick Colebank, and Kenzie Davies; son in-law, Kevin Fisher; two sisters, Kathryn Imogene Morgan and Wanda Faye Kinslow; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents Ken is preceded in death by one daughter, Tracie Lea (Chambers) Fisher (November 22, 2017); one brother, Albert Denver Chambers Jr.; one sister in-law, Barbara Chambers; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Morgan and Billy Kinslow.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, WV, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 9:00AM until 12:00PM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Corey Gero officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard, the Taylor County Honor Guard and the WV Patriot Guard Riders.
