Kenneth “KJ” Eugene Royce Jr., 79, of Grafton, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Grafton, West Virginia, on January 19, 1946, the son of the late Kenneth Eugene Sr. and Ruth Devers Royce.
Kenny shared more than forty-one wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Linda Toothman Royce, whom he married on May 26, 1984. Their life together was built on devotion, laughter, and a deep commitment to family.
A proud graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1963, Ken dedicated his working years as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service, a job he took great pride in until his retirement. He had a generous heart, especially when it came to children, and could often be found volunteering his time umpiring baseball and soccer games, always encouraging young athletes with patience and kindness.
Kenny found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life — spending quiet moments fishing along the local riverbanks, sharing stories, and making memories with family and friends. No matter the occasion, he treasured time spent with those he loved and will be remembered for his easygoing nature, warm smile, and steady presence.
In addition to his beloved wife Linda, KJ is survived by his children: Christopher Royce (Moriah), Chad Royce (Julie), and Kathy Royce (Chris); seven cherished grandchildren, Emily Royce, Gavin Royce, Ellie Royce, Kaiden Royce, Sky Royce, Taylynn Puchalski, and Sawyer Puchalski; two brothers, Thomas Royce (Ginny) and James Royce; and one sister, Sherrie Parman. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Avenue, Grafton, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM, and again on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, the hour of the funeral service, with Pastor Jeff Tucker officiating.
