Kelly Belinda Ludwick of the Lucretia community passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was born on May 12, 1962, in Grafton, and was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Ada M. Sears Ludwick.
Kelly was a graduate of Grafton High School and Fairmont State University. She was employed by Valley Comprehensive Community Mental Health Center as the Monongalia/Marion I/DD Waiver Senior Day Program Supervisor, and was a passionate advocate for those with disabilities. She was also the adoption coordinator for the Taylor County Humane Society, and was a fierce advocate for all animals. She was particularly skilled in matching shelter dogs with appropriate and loving families, and was responsible for many successful adoptions in several states. Her passing is a great loss for the animals of Taylor county, and it would be her fervent wish that volunteers would step up and provide a voice for them.
Kelly is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Kenny Mayle of Grafton, and her much-loved nephews, Matthew Mayle of Sycamore, Illinois, and Jared Mayle and fiancee Claire Eichmann of Columbus, Ohio. She is also survived by her aunts, Elizabeth Miller and Nancy Ludwick of Grafton, and Joann Cooper of Akron, Ohio,Linda Thompson, Arthurdale and several cousins, as well as her best friends, Diana Robinson-Holmes of Grafton, and Candi Snyder of Morgantown, and her Lucretia neighbors, who were like family to her.
Kelly was the proud "mom" to her dog Oliver, and "aunt" to Macy, and she will be greatly missed by family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. She was definitely one of a kind--funny, sarcastic, stubborn, and generous--and she never let life's curveballs get her down. She was our hero.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. If you wish to do so, the family requests donations to the Taylor County Humane Society.
