Kathleen "Kate" Virginia (Reams) Kines

Kathleen Virginia (Kate) Kines, 95, of the Linn Chapel Community in Grafton passed away Tuesday May 18, 2021 at her residence with family by her side. She was born on August 26, 1925, in Mill Creek, the daughter of the late Ed and Blanche (Hammons) Reams.  Kathleen was married 58 years to Howard Virgil (Pete) Kines who preceded her in death on November 13, 2002. 

Kathleen was a homemaker, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, working in the garden, canning and cooking. She loved going camping and working word search puzzles. Kathleen’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and cherished her time with all of them.

Kathleen is survived by one son, Howard Robert (Bob) Kines of (Grafton), two daughters, Diana Setler of (Grafton) and Nancy Sypolt (George) of Grafton, two sisters Irene Coder of PA, and Shirley Wiser (Wesley) of PA, eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Kathleen was preceded in death by one daughter Eunice Thorn, a great-grandson, Travis Thorn and a two son in-laws Robert Junior (Bob) Thorn, and John Setler, two brothers Eddie Reams and Robert Reams, three sisters Elizabeth Phillips, Leona Reams, and Bertha Reams.

Kathleen’s request for cremation has been honored. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
