Joy Elaine Ellington

Joy Elaine Ellington, 71 of Grafton passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Mon General Hospital, Morgantown, with her loving family by her side. She was born November 5, 1952 in Grafton, daughter of the late John E. and Dolores Price Louzy. Joy is survived by her husband Michael Ellington whom she married on August 9, 2003.

Joy graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1972. She loved the art of dance and was the owner and instructor of the Joy of Dance Studio for many years. Joy and Mike traveled extensively and enjoyed the new places and sites they saw together. She was an avid West Virginia University fan and was a member local VFW Auxiliary Post 3081.

In addition to her husband, Joy is survived by one son Leland Reed (companion Therese Prosser) and his father Donald (Donnie)Reed; one sister, Judy Louzy; one brother, Jay Louzy (Mellanee); two nieces, Jennifer Ware (Michael), and Devon Durrett (companion Russell Spring); two nephews Jerad Louzy (Stacey), and Joel Louzy; great-niece, Avery Spring and great-nephew, Trey Louzy; best friends, cousin Kathy Dotson, and Marsha McCourt; and several cousins.

Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 9:00AM until the hour of the funeral at 11:00AM with Pastor Terry Osborne officiating.
