John “Buck” Traougette Peters 84, of Parkview passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at WV Caring Hospice in Elkins. He was born May 3, 1940 in Webster Springs, WV, a son of the late Claude and Alice Root Peters, Sr., Buck is survived by his wife, Pamela Jean McGee Peters, they were married on February 17, 2004 spending over twenty years together. Buck was a proud veteran of the US Army. He worked and retired from Tractor and Equipment Company in Alabama as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid fisherman and liked to hunt. Buck enjoyed playing and listening to country music and going to sing karaoke. He loved the time he spent with his family and friends. Buck is survived by one step daughter, Kara Hall (Benny); one step son, Jason Chambers; two step grandchildren, Benny Hall and Devin Hall; one brother, Terry Peters (Barbara); two sisters, Rose Foley Carvillano, Charlene Davis; close friends, Bob and Gay Wright; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents Buck was preceded death by three sisters, Catherine Lannan, Irene Lowe, and Lorraine Peters; two brothers, Lloyd Peters, Sr., and Claude “Buddy” Peters, Jr.; and one step son, Nathan Chambers. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00AM, Friday, June 21, 2024 at the West Virginia National Cemetery with Chaplain Randy Jennings officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the WV Army Camp Dawson Honor Guard.
