John Michael Vance, 66 of Grafton passed away on Friday July 21, 2023 at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born July 31, 1956 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, a son of Shirley Irene Graham Vance, Elkins and the late James Calvin Vance. John worked many years at Grafton Homes. He was a member of the Blueville Church of the Nazarene and attended the Freedom Fellowship Community Church. John was a woodworker and a craftsman that could build anything. He really enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and digging ginseng. John loved the time spent with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, John is survived by his wife Shirley Croy Vance whom he married July 18, 1992; one daughter, Petina Bolton and Kenny; two sons, Michael Vance and Amanda, David Croy and Kim; ten grandchildren, Serenity, Heavenly, Chloe, Cailen, Braydon, Bayleigh, David, Eddie, Destiny,and Jersey; two great grandchildren, Whitley and Berkeley; four sisters, Debra Vance, Sharon Campbell, Sheila Vance and Marilynn Harris; three brothers, Stephen Vance, David Vance and Gary Vance; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by one son, Eddie Reebenaker III; four sisters, Diana Vance, Lana Vance and Phyllis Vance and Michelle Pennington; three brothers, Russell Vance, Donald Vance and James Vance and his four-legged companion “Lucky”. Family and friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home,202 McGraw Ave., Grafton on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 11:00AM until the funeral hour at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Lonnie Colebank officiating.
