John Thomas "Tom" Mayle of Fairmont, WV, passed on October 2, 2024 at River Oaks Healthcare Center in Clarksburg WV where he was under Hospice Care.
John is survived by his wife Roxie Mayle, his daughter Tina McDonald and husband Charles of Laramie, WY, son Shawn Mayle and wife Angela of Gerrardtown, WV, two stepdaughters Cindy Graziani and husband John, Melissa Petracca of Fairmont, 1 step son in law James Rotunda, 13 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. John had 8 brothers and 3 sisters, surviving siblings are Freny Harris Minardi, Sheila Mayle, Stan Mayle and his wife Nora, 2 sister in-laws Violet, Donna and several nieces and nephews.
John faithfully attended the Webster Pike Bible Church for 35 years. John sang with a gospel group for 20 years at nursing homes. John continued to sing at the nursing home where he resided for several months up to his death.
John served in the US Navy for 20 years and was honored to travel the world with the military, including a tour in Vietnam. John was an avid fisherman he fished till his eyesight failed him. He could filet a fish with no bones and would also fry up a mean skillet full of delicious fish. It was a great honor to eat his fish. John and Roxie loved to travel, he had made several trips out west to visit with his daughter he enjoyed visiting new places. John would keep passengers entertained by singing little silly songs.
John was born and raised in Lodgeville, WV by his late parents Leonard & Ruby Titchener Mayle. He is proceeded in death by his late wife Mary Jane Dodd Mayle and son John Thomas Mayle, and step- daughter Robin Rotunda and siblings Richard, Leonard (Duck) and wife, Anna, Calvin and wife Dorthy, Charles and wife Katherine (Catty) Timothy, and half brothers Ira, Robert Cain, and sister Vickie Mayle.
Family and friends are welcome to call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave, Grafton, WV on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 12:00PM until 4:00PM and Monday, October 7, 2024 from 9:00AM until 11:30AM the hour of the funeral with Pastors DJ Maley, Jim Zinn, Todd Syruws and Rick Kerns officiating. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the US Navy Honor Guard and by the Taylor County Honor Guard.
