JoAnn (Johnson) Charrette

JoAnn Charrette, 84, of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Mon General Hospital. She was born July 24, 1940 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Guy R. Johnson and Lou Edith Taylor Bunnell. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Charrette.

JoAnn worked many years a hairdresser, owning the Hair Shack Beauty Shop and working several years as a regional manager at the Regis Beauty Shop. She loved learning new techniques always giving each customer special treatment. JoAnn enjoyed the computer always anxious to learn new programs to make her business better, looking up things and playing games. She really liked to work, travel to see different sites and learn about the places she visited. JoAnn enjoyed line dancing, camping and just being with people, she never met a stranger.

JoAnn is survived by four children, LaDonna Douglas (Wayne), Sandra Dawson (Gordon), Kimberly Parker (Robert), Terry Brumage, nine grandchildren, Justin Talkington, Jonathon Talkington, Harry Fox, Steven Fox, Troy Fox, Vanessa Brumage(Portune), Terentia R. Finkelstein, Robert Parker, Rae Ann Parker,  fifteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Donna Booth, one brother-in-law, Ed Kyle; special step daughter, Debbie Jacobs; several step children and step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, JoAnn was preceded death by one granddaughter-Sophia who was waiting on her grandmother as she entered into the gates of heaven; four sisters, Mildred Stottlemyer, Susan Cottrell, Norma Kyle and Esther Kyle; one brother, Gary Bunnell.
